100$ says Casey Janssen of the Toronto Blue Jays throws an excellent game tonight against the Rangers. He had three really rough outings and then a good one last week. He has apparently corrected a flaw in his delivery. The three games he lost were not good games, and he had a lot of really bad luck in one of them (I remember about 5 hits in one inning not one of which was hit well). But I still think he's going to be great someday. He's got the stuff and the mind to handle it and a lot of confidence and a decent amount of experience (he'll turn 25 in September).
I compared him to Verlander earlier this season (because they were both rookies) but Verlander has proven a tough competitor - he's had great stuff all year. Every time I see him pitch he's been outstanding. I sure hope the Tigers start to crumble. They are one tough cookie. Also, it's too bad the Jays don't get to play them more, since Toronto and Detroit are only about 240 miles apart, yet play each other only 6 times a year.
Back to Janssen though. If he can get back on track, the Jays will be set to take a run (barring any big injuries).
Oh, and Roy Halladay, of course, is very, very good.
And Troy Glaus - you suck.
No, he doesn't suck that bad. He's just really been slumping for about a month and a half. He's not producing any more, his avg. with RISP is terrible (around .200). Homeruns, yes, but his batting style is such that he's more like a lucky gambler than a skilled one up there at the plate. Franky Catalanotto is great though. Hitting .380 with RISP. He's a hitter.
The Jays have five players going to the All Star game. And yet they're only in third place. They could have even more at the All Star game. You could not possibly ask for more from Reed Johnson (hitting .374 in 190 AB,, the mvp according to protrade.com). Johnson is a stellar defender as well
Also, BJ Ryan had his worst outing of the year yesterday. Have no fear, he has not lost his effectiveness. I remember his one other bad outing, he just didn't have his good stuff that night, and the same goes for last night. He had little control, and ended up having to serve up some pitches to some very good hitters. He even threw a wild pitch. He still got the save, but it was sketchy. He'll be fine tho. Nobody's perfect.
Thats it. Sorry I have been ignoring my duties and not writing so much about the jays. I've been watching the games, but I am a busy guy right now.

sooo i think i might want to retract some of what i said about casey janssen ... i guess i owe you 100$ tho ... Its the third inning, the Rangers have five runs and three home runs already. They are beating him up. They are a great hitting team tho. Blalock, Texiera, Young, Mench, Matthews ... thats like half the starting players from an allstar game in the not too distant future ...

i still believe in casey janssen tho ... he'll right the ship.
